February/ March Dev Team Update
·As we at Dark Forest Interactive cross over from one month to another, we take a look back at what we were able to work on during the month of February and plan to work on in March.
February
This was a slow month for us as we had much to do outside of game development this month. Life got crazy but, in the time we did have we were able to work more on story development of the titles we're working on. We are nearing completion on the story map for our main game (codenamed Shop) as well as hammering out all of the details in between. For our other game (codenamed Beacon), we are still working on story pacing and how long we would liked the game to be. We are trying to develop a small and fun story that can be completed relatively quickly but, with many different paths of choices one can take allowing for replayability.
March
For the month of March, we will continue to work on story development and investment searching so that we are then able to commission artwork, animation, and programming. Right now, we are not able to have a large team and we are feeling the weight of that. Our goal is to pay professionals properly for their work and seek to make sure that our business practices remain ethical and human-centric. This is why Dark Forest Interactive does not set unrealistic deadlines, overwork people, or otherwise engage in practices that go against our high standards of worker compensation and treatment.
To the future...
Here at Dark Forest Interactive, we are so happy to continue to have the support and love of our small community as we work towards our goals of creating beautiful and engaging narrative experiences.
Thank you all! :)
